The Royal Automobile Club of Australia Motoring Committee presents an evening of Music and Motors - with RACA member and international music collaborator Don Reedman
Don Reedman left Australia for the U.K. in 1969 with a dream of making a career in the music industry. His first break was getting a job at ATV Music and the first record he was involved with was ''Sugar Sugar by the Archies" which went on to spend 8 weeks at No.1. After a year he left to join Carlin Music and found songs for Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard and many more.
By 1984 he was Director of Concept Marketing at Sony Music producing concept albums of a number of music genres over the next 20 years before forming Focus Music International specialising in creative concepts with major record labels.
Collaborations with the likes of Tom Jones followed as well as Status Quo, Hank Marvin and David Essex culminating with the creation of a new album IF I CAN DREAM with Elvis Presley, utilsing the original vocals and backing tracks but adding the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. An international arena tour followed playing to sold out audiences featuring Elvis on the screen with Pricilla Presley as compere.
Don then expanded this highly successful concept to include Roy Orbison, Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys and Johnny Cash and is today actively involved in the music industry.
An avid car enthusiast he has a 1947 Bentley Mk 6 in the UK and a 1954 VW Beetle in Australia.
Don't miss Don Reedman and his interesting tales of this exciting era in the music industry with some of the all time greats!
