Lauren White & Felix Bornholdt

Lauren is currently studying for a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She has received her Certificate of Performance in Singing from the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) and is studying to complete her AMusA (AMEB) in Singing. Other performance credits include: function/event jazz bands, recording backing vocals for ‘Music: Count Us In’ 2015 with Marcia Hines and John Foreman, featured artist in the Schools Spectacular at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
Felix is a Sydney-based pianist from New Zealand. While still in high school he was the recipient of a number of awards including Most Outstanding Pianist and the Judges Special Commendation award at both the Manawatu Jazz Festival and Wellington International Jazz Festival, judged by trumpet player Alex Sipiagin and saxophonist Bob Shephard. In 2013, Bornholdt was asked to perform a two-hour solo set on the Michael Parakowhai piano, New Zealand’s entry in the 2012 Venice Biennale. In 2014, under encouragement from pianist Mike Nock, Felix moved from Wellington to Australia to study Jazz Piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Since relocating to Sydney, Bornholdt has performed extensively across Sydney in venues including the Enmore Theatre, Oxford Art Factory, The Basement, 505, The Sly Fox and Bohemian Grove. In April/May 2016 a trio, led by Bornholdt and featuring bassist Jacques Emery and drummer Alex Inman-Hislop toured NSW for 10 days, playing 8 concerts and 15 workshops. The trio has remained together since and continues to workshop and perform music by all three members.
