A common bond between the Imperial Service Club and the Royal Automobile Club of Australia saw a joining of the two clubs in 1986.

The Imperial Service Club was incorporated within the Royal Automobile Club of Australia in 1986, bringing with it a history stretching back to World War 1. An early Club document proclaimed, "It is scarcely possible to emphasise too strongly the necessity for such Clubs as this, which will be a rallying point for the Officers who have served and will bind them into one strong united body, which they certainly were on service". The Club became the venue of choice for battalion reunions and annual dinners.

Today the tradition continues in the Imperial Service Club room on the 4th Floor of the Clubhouse, with regular events run by our members groups such as the Regular Army Officers. A welcome is extended to all members of our Defence Forces including Active, Retired and Reserve members.
